We have put quite an effort into looking for the perfect new long term home for Rainbow, with many thousands of km’s traveled this year.  Whilst we have had some success in finding a site we consider to have great potential, a rezoning requirement (which is still currently underway) has prevented us from using this site for the 2008 event.

We therefore will be returning to our current site at Beaufort again and have put some extra measures in place to ensure your experience this year will be a comfortable one.

1. We have added an extra field to the treed camping area – providing almost double the space for people to camp amongst the trees. Also this area will no longer be car free, instead being no driving during the event and gates to this area will be closed once it is full. Remember its not safe to camp under overhanging branches!

2. As we all know, the drought had a severe impact on the region last year, being the culmination of many years of bad conditions.  This year however, has seen good rains during the year and we are pleased to inform you that there is excellent grass coverage across the whole site, and it is even green at the moment.  With full dams to work with we have sewn some extra grass seedlings into sparse areas and irrigated when necessary to keep grass coverage in good condition.

3. As feed has been in plentiful supply no stock have been grazing on the festival site all year.

4. We’ve redesigned the layout and its looking great!  Amazing new main floor site, and improved market floor, lifestyle village in a comfortable and accessible area and space to roam and more structures and facilities located around the festival grounds.
