Entwined Bellydance

Journey down the silk road – delight on exotic beauties and sounds, and be hypnotised by the serpentine goddesses of Entwined Bellydance. Their set of earthy, ethereal and temple fusion pays homage to the Indian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian – Ishtar, Hathor and Durga - goddeses of creation, creativity and rebirth.

Entwined Bellydance will bring together traditional bellydance props and dance in a modern, innovative and unique fusion including sword and veil.

Their emotive yet technical blend of fusion bellydance, draws on ancient traditional bellydance and modern theatrics to create a heady intoxicating blend.

Entwined Bellydance is the project of Laura Entwined, a Queensland-born, Melbourne-based bellydance teacher, performer, choreographer and troupe director. Performing since 2006, Laura has graced the stages of some of Australia's biggest electronic music and lifestyle festivals. She is a regular guest performer with live acts and DJs including Ganga Giri, Sikander and Mickey Space, and has a new partnership with Kundalini Project. She has performed nationally and internationally. Never one to be pigeon-holed, her work has been called elegant, emotive and hypnotic. She was one of the first tribal fusion bellydancers to bring the dance to the electronic music scene in Australia, debuting at Rainbow Serpent Festival in 2010, and now performs all over Victoria with her various troupes and projects featuring passionate bellydancers and emerging dancers.
