Transport Options

Too many people camping with you to all fit in your car? Want a cleaner and greener way to travel? Or just want to avoid the hassles and hazards of driving on the roads on a long weekend?  Sit back, relax and let someone else drive you to the festival (or dance around the train carriage all the way to Beaufort!).

For 2018 we’ve made it easier than ever to get to or from the festival by public transport with extra charter buses added at different times.  We are also creating a special walk in camping area close to the action for those that choose to travel by public transport.  As a thank you we will also throw in one free souvenir program for each person travelling via our charter bus services.

Charter Bus from Melbourne

We have a number of buses running for 2018 and we’ve increased the service times. But these need to be pre-booked, so we recommended getting your ticket ASAP.

The luxury air-conditioned buses will leave Federation Square (Flinders Street Melbourne CBD) Thursday and Friday taking you directly to the festival site near Lexton.  Buses will then depart the festival site Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday morning returning you to Federation Square.

As part of our strategy to encourage people to choose alternate modes of transport to cars the charter bus tickets for 2018 are subsidised by our vehicle pass revenue.  This has allowed us to run additional buses and reduce the price of a return bus ticket to Rainbow by 27%.
