Kate Booth / Traditional Australian Indigenous Games

Kate started her journey in the field of early childhood at 17 when she undertook her Certificate of Aboriginal Child Care. From here she worked at Yappera Child Care Centre in Melbourne, an all Aboriginal child centre. After an extended break, Kate returned to the early childhood sector in 2008 and since then has been working with early childhood educators on cultural inclusion, providing mentoring, guidance and delivering workshops across Australia.

Kate has worked in the early childhood sector within urban, rural and remote communities and closely with local Aboriginal community members. She is passionate about supporting mainstream educators to respectfully maintain partnership with local Traditional Custodians, Aboriginal culture within national quality standards and ensuring it is entwined and not tokenistic, ensuring the ongoing survival of the oldest living culture in the world.
