Kodi Twiner

Ecofeminism Collage

Australia

Ecofeminism is an intersectional, patchwork quilt ideology that explores the inherent violence towards women and nature that stem from the dominant paradigm of the capitalist patriarchy.

BIG TOPICS! BIG FEELS!

To deal with it all, presenter, Kodi Twiner created a multidisciplinary creative project called NAGA BUAH. We need to change the narrative and create our own subversive media. Come and get your hands crafty and learn about ecofeminism. Leave with your own hard copy hand-collaged zine! Materials supplied.

Kodi Twiner, as NAGA BUAH, crafts a timely and honest onstage exploration of ecofeminism, and how her experience as an activist, artist and above all, as a woman, crash into her ideals of equality, justice and love of nature in all its biodiversity.

Zines are hand-made, non-commercial, small-run paper publications that are circulated by alternative, special-interest communities (Radway 2011).

The NAGA BUAH multidisciplinary follows in this tradition of alternative, subversive political expression, and is assembled in hard copy form, from magazine clippings, books, photographs and self-generated art.

Taking influence from previous political and feminist musicians, Kodi Twiner, as NAGA BUAH, brings ecofeminism into dialogue with artistic practice, in efforts to catalyse the positive forces of a creative Anthropocene through liberation of women and nature.
