We have made some changes to our ticket purchase process this year so please ensure you read the ticket FAQ below carefully for updated instructions.

Ticket Registration & Purchase Process

 

Before being able to purchase ANY event ticket this year all customers must complete our Ticket Registration Process. Upon successful completion you will be allocated your unique code which will then be required to access the Eventbrite transaction page. This applies to ALL ticket types from Early Birds through to General Presale.

Step 1
Please note: if you are using Internet Explorer you may have some issues unlocking your code. Please try using a different browser on your desktop or laptop computer, or unlock your code using your smart phone instead.

Before being able to access your code to purchase tickets you need to have an account on our website.

If you had an account on our old website your login details will be the same, so just login. If you have forgotten your password please complete a password reset.

Those who have no history with our website or application system will be required to create a new account. Follow the instructions and enter all the required information to create your account.

Step 2

Once you’ve created your account head to the My Account tab and click on “Unlock my ticket code”

 

 

In order to receive your code you will need to answer a few basic questions about our festival, our ethos surrounding waste, sustainability, consent, crowd behaviour and our culture. These questions are designed to remind and educate rather than single out or ostracise anyone so don’t worry- if you get a question wrong we will give you a hint so you can go back and choose again.  

Once all questions have been answered correctly you will receive a code. Copy the code carefully (it is case sensitive) then click on the link to PURCHASE TICKETS.

 

Step 3

Buy your tickets to Rainbow!

When logged in to your user account on the Rainbow website and once you have answered all the questions correctly, under the “Unlock my ticket code” tab of the "My Account" section of your user account you will see your code and the link to “PURCHASE TICKETS”. Copy the code and follow the link to be taken to the Eventbrite page. Click on the green ‘Tickets’ button:

 

At first you will only be able to see the vehicle passes as the event tickets are hidden until you enter your code. You will need to paste your code into the “Enter Promotional Code” field:

 

You should now be able to see available ticket types. Select up to 2 tickets of the tier that is available and up to 2 vehicle passes and proceed through to purchase.

 

You will need to scroll to the bottom of this window to find the vehicle passes. One vehicle pass is required for each vehicle – not person. You can add a vehicle pass to your cart during this transaction if necessary, or you can come back and purchase a vehicle pass at a later date as they are not restricted by the code unlock function.   

 

Once you have selected your tickets, click on checkout and you will be taken to the payment information screen, where you can click on ‘Pay Now’ to complete the transaction. You will then be taken to the ticket confirmation screen and will also receive a confirmation of your purchase via an email from Eventbrite. If you do not receive this email within 24-48 hours of purchasing your tickets to the event, you may have entered your email address incorrectly.

 

To check this, first try logging into your Eventbrite account. If after logging in with your email address, you cannot see the order under ‘My Tickets’, you will need to contact Eventbrite support here and follow these steps:

  1. Under “What Can We Help You With?” please select “Attending an Event”
  2. Under “Select A Topic” please select “Tickets & Receipts”
  3. Under “Tickets & Receipts” please select “Typed wrong email address”
  4. After the further information window comes up, please select “I still need help” and a contact form will appear.
  5. In this contact form enter your full name, email address (correct one) and the last 4 digits of the credit card you used to purchase which is then used to verify your account and someone from Eventbrite’s support team will be in touch within a couple of business days.

 

If you are not ready to purchase straight away you won’t have to go through the registration process again; the code and link will be saved in your profile until you are ready to purchase. Do not enter the promotional code into Eventbrite until you are ready to purchase as there is a 15 minute time period once you get to the checkout screen. If this time period expires before you have made your purchase, wait at least 5 minutes before trying the code again.  There is a limit of two tickets festival tickets and two vehicle passes per customer.

 

Don’t delay for too long though! Both rounds of Early bird tickets are usually sold out within the first few days after going on sale.  General presales will most likely be available for a couple of months but once they have sold out as well your code won’t help you anymore!

 

Ticket FAQs

Do I need to purchase a Vehicle Pass?

If you are bringing your vehicle to Rainbow Serpent Festival (including cars, motorbikes, RVs and campervans) you will need to purchase a Vehicle Pass to gain entry into the festival.

Vehicle Passes cost $30 including a $10 refundable recycling deposit you can pick up on exchange of recycling neatly bagged at the end of the festival.

You do not need a Vehicle Pass if you are traveling via Rainbow Serpent’s Charter Bus, or public transport/shuttle bus.

If you do not purchase your Vehicle Pass online then you will need to park your car at the gate and purchase one from the box office (this will delay your entry to the event and cause significant delays in the line so we strongly advise you pre-purchase).

Purchasing tickets: E-tickets

Purchasing an e-ticket has advantages. You save on printing, handling and postage charges and if you lose your e-ticket you can simply print it from your email, download it to your phone or tablet device from your Eventbrite account or email, or request a replacement.

To avoid issues when buying e-tickets we strongly recommend NOT TO USE secondary sale websites such as Facebook, Gumtree, eBay, Viagogo etc.

It is your responsibility to ensure you take all the necessary security precautions when buying a ticket. E-tickets are used throughout the world and while we hate to see Rainbow patrons taken advantage of we are not able to replace fraudulent (fake) tickets.

 

IMPORTANT

All e-tickets will have the name of the attendee printed on the ticket. We check all e-tickets against ID at the gate and if your name does not match the name on the e-ticket you will be denied entry to the festival. Make sure you bring an officially recognised form of photo ID. We accept driver’s licence, keypass and passports.

There are only three instances where an attendee’s name doesn’t need to be on a ticket:

  1. If you are showing up to the event with the person that purchased your tickets and their name is on the ticket. They will be asked for proof of identification in this instance.
  2. If you are trans gender or non-binary and do not identify with the name on your license or identification. In this case, please email our ticketing team for information on how to use your license number as the identifier on your e-ticket, and you may use the name you identify with when purchasing tickets.

If it is a hard copy physical ticket (such as those bought from a ticketing outlet).

When will I receive my E-ticket?

Only the Eventbrite account holder (original purchaser) will receive a confirmation email after purchasing tickets. Please make sure you have received your confirmation email within 24-48 hours of purchasing your tickets online. If you did not receive the confirmation email, please contact Eventbrite Support here immediately as there may be an issue or spelling error with the email you have registered on your account.

All e-tickets will be emailed to attendees whose details are listed in the Eventbrite account in early January. Please ensure all email addresses are spelt correctly before this date.

Please allow two days for the emails to be received and check your junk/spam folder if it is not received.

Please check your email account on this date and follow the procedures outlined if you do not have your tickets in your inbox. Failure to advise non-receipt of your tickets in an appropriate timeframe before the festival commences might mean you don’t receive your tickets in time for the festival. Rainbow Serpent Festival does not accept “I couldn’t locate my e-tickets” as a valid excuse on the gate.

Purchasing tickets: Hard Copy Physical Tickets

Hard copy physical tickets will be available from usual outlets sometime in September only at the General Sale price of $395 +BF. We will update this FAQ with outlet locations when hard copy tickets go on sale.

What happens if I lose my hard copy physical (purchased via outlet) ticket?

It is your responsibility to keep your hard copy physical ticket safe.

Hard copy physical tickets are not registered to any specific name. If you lose your hard copy physical ticket or it is damaged in any way (at gate discretion) we cannot replace it and you will need to buy another ticket. Hard copy physical tickets will not be replaced under any circumstances.

Can I get a refund or sell my E-ticket?

All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable as per our terms and conditions. If ticket sales reach capacity, you may be able to request a refund for your e-ticket through the refund/waitlist system provided someone else in the system is waiting to purchase it. More info will be provided if/when this service becomes available.

Refunds, if available, are only made into the account that was used to purchase the tickets. Eventbrite does not store your credit card details and they cannot be updated within the system. If your account details change between when you purchase and when you wish to on-sell onto the waitlist (if it becomes available) you may be unable to use this service.

Can I sell my Hard Copy Physical Ticket (purchased via outlet)

YES, if you can no longer come to the festival you can sell your hard copy physical ticket.

Refunds are not available for hard copy physical tickets. You can on-sell a hard copy physical ticket to another person directly as hard copy physical tickets do not have attendee names assigned to them. We strongly suggest you only buy or sell to friends to avoid possible counterfeit and fraud situations.

Rainbow strongly advises you to only buy hard copy physical tickets from or sell tickets to a person you know and trust. Rainbow Serpent Festival cannot be held responsible for tickets that are purchased from unauthorised sellers. Printed tickets can be counterfeited and are often sold at highly inflated prices on Facebook, Gumtree, eBay, Viagogo and other 2nd hand online platforms from scalpers. You can only be certain of e-ticket validity if you purchased directly via Eventbrite and it was emailed to you directly via Eventbrite.

Changing an attendee name on an E-ticket

The Eventbrite account holder (the person who originally purchased the ticket) is able to manage attendee details on your tickets via their Eventbrite account until tickets are sent in early January. Only the Eventbrite account holder can update details. This means that only the person who has purchased the ticket is able to change the attendee name on a ticket in their order. After tickets are sent out the attendee details that appear on the tickets will be final.

Please do not email tickets@rainbowserpent.net after the tickets have been sent out in early January as attendee names on tickets are final after this date and we will be unable to change the attendee names for you.

Can you please resend my E-tickets?

Your tickets will be sent to you in early January via email. If you are unable to find them check your Eventbrite account via the Eventbrite website, checking the ‘My Tickets’ section. Please print a copy and bring with you to the event.

How do I use my E-ticket?

Print the pdf e-tickets page sent to your email which contains the unique QR code or download the ticket to a phone or tablet device before you make your way to the festival (there is no reception on site and we cannot ‘download it for you’). Bring the ticket with you to the gate, along with your photo ID.

If you are trans-gender or non-binary

You have the option to contact tickets@rainbowserpent.net as we have inclusivity policies which may improve your experience during ticketing/gate processing. We would love to hear from you!

Do I need to arrive with the person who purchased my ticket?

If your name is NOT printed on the ticket, then YES, you need to arrive at the festival with the original ticket purchaser.

Photo ID of the person presenting the ticket will be checked at the gate to make sure it matches the name on the e-ticket as well as the data in our system.

I have applied to be a volunteer, do I need to purchase a ticket?

If your volunteer application has been successful the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you in how to access your volunteer ticket which is issued after you have received confirmation.

If you are waiting for confirmation you may wish to purchase a ticket to ensure you don't miss out if your application is unsuccessful.

Can I buy a ticket for only 3 days, 2 days or the last day?

No. Only full festival tickets are available.

Do children need a ticket?

Children 12 years old and under can enter free (no ticket needed) provided they are attending with a parent or guardian (with tickets).

Do I get a free ticket if it’s my birthday during the festival?

No. We will however put on a rockin’ party for you! 🙂

Ticket Warnings

  • Attendee names can only be changed by the Eventbrite account holder until cut-off date is reached and e-tickets with listed attendee names are sent out. Once e-tickets are sent out in early January, attendee names are final.
  • Name Transfers/Changing of Attendee Name is not possible at the gate. Do not turn up with e-tickets not in your name (only exception to this is where the ‘Named Attendee’ is present in car with you).
  • The name printed on the ticket and the ID presented upon entry to the festival must correspond to the name in the Eventbrite system.
  • We do not recommend the sale &/or purchase of tickets through websites like Facebook, Gumtree, eBay, Viagogo and other online auction sites. Rainbow strongly advises you to only buy tickets from a person you know and trust. Rainbow Serpent Festival cannot be held responsible for tickets that are purchased from unauthorised sellers
  • Please be very aware of possible forgeries, particularly if the event is sold out. We cannot stress this enough – only purchase tickets from authorised outlets. If you arrive at the gate with a fake ticket – it will not pass the scanner, you will not be allowed entry, there will be no negotiations or exceptions made.
  • If someone is attempting to sell you a printed ticket, even if it has your name on it, this should be treated as extremely suspicious.
  • Hard copy physical tickets will only be made available later in the year through a limited number of retail outlets and authorised agents. Unless you are certain it is a genuine ticket do not take a chance, forgeries will not pass the unique QR code scan at the gate.

If you do not feel 100% secure in the ticket, do not buy it, it is not worth the stress of losing all of your money. You are taking a risk when purchasing from places like Facebook, Gumtree, eBay, Viagogo and other auction sites. We have repeatedly warned people of the dangers of these sites and Rainbow Serpent Festival cannot be held responsible for tickets that are purchased from unauthorised sellers.
